Edit: 5-June-2018

Lenovo K8 note Oreo update. Phone Heating, charging, hanging issue is coz VoltE is using 100% CPU.
1. DISABLE VoltE. No issues frm 10 days.

Issue fixed by turning off 'Enhanced 4G LTE mode'. Switched on VoltE and problem came up again. So until Lenovo sorts it, DISABLE VoltE. No issues from last 10 days. Phone Reset is optional.

2. Else install 2Jun2018 Oreo patch update. No issues frm last 72hrs with VoltE enabled.

Lenovo started giving patch update as of 2 June 2018. You can download it and try as well.

Its been 72 hours and i have no heat, charge or hanging problems. Have enabled VoltE also.

3. Still issue is there, then Off VoltE. U will know the difference.

Tip: Turn ON VoltE only wen u make 4Gvideo calls.  Anyways try enable and disabling VoltE you will know the difference.

You can download your sim operator app like Jio app etc. to make video calls in 4G without switching ON VoltE.

Heating is common as VoltE is quite battery consuming, just make sure the heating is not beyond 40°Celsius. Basically the heating should not be too noticeable compared to your previous mobile usage experience. In case you have never experienced such heating, then take it to service centre at first.

VoltE is the Culprit.

While finding which process using the most cpu with adb command

adb shell top -m

I found that an process called 'volte_stack' was using most cpu. I fixed the issue by turning off the 'Enhanced 4G LTE mode' off from the settings.

Even I Switched on VoltE & heating, charging, charging problem came up again. For now until Lenovo sorts it, DISABLE VoltE. No issues from last 7 days. Phone Reset is optional.
