Why as per the Indian culture must a woman live in the house of the man after marriage, especially in the Hindu culture?

For this you will first have to know what is Indian culture. Over the hundreds of centuries, Indian culture has become inclusive of Budhism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam and so on. The list is endless. I will answer the question specifically to hindu culture.

Hindu Culture in short believes humans are beyond just life forms. As per Hindu culture, we believe that nothing is permanent and the entire creation is neither created nor destroyed. ( Little complicated but basically we are trying to tell that we all should realize that we more than souls and not just physical beings).

Now offcourse, in Hindus you will find scriptures why women should goto the husband’s after marriage but let me tell the reason behind it.

As per Hindu tradition (offcourse, if you carefully observe around you also), Women is 7 times stronger than a man in will power and women in general are more control of their senses (offcourse, debatable, people might say women are equal to man and i just said we are all spirits. So, what i am saying, a life or soul in woman’s body is simply 7 times stronger than a man’s body + life in it.)

So, is it right for such a talented being to be kept for ourselves or should we share them to the new family and let her pass on the caring, love, compassion, knowledge, strength to her new family.

Off course, as I said, in scriptures you will find hard rules where women should stay after marriage but you have to understand the context and what is the ultimate reason it was said.

Hinduism - is not a religion. Just look at it what an all it has. Hinduism has for eg: Yoga for exercise, Ayurveda - for health, Astrology etc and not to forget the usual religious teachings and mention of Gods. Why am I saying this is to tell you that Hinduism - the eternal tradition," or the "eternal way," beyond human history.Scholars regard Hinduism as a fusion or synthesis of various Indian cultures and traditions, with diverse roots and no founder. So even I can create something and call it Hinduism. I can create my own God - and worship it. If it was a religion it should just have had Gods and preachings and morals right. Think….

Again some people might say we have so many Gods - that is because we all know power of subconscious mind right. How do you harness it. The mind is very tricky, it is almost impossible to control and live on a conscious. Just look around us. All so called achievers are so full of ego and lack compassion for lesser beings.

We have so many Gods only to trick the subconscious mind to make us believe that we can solve the problem or somehow the problem will be solved. Yes, as i said earlier we all ultimately are beyond the physical body, and the entire universe is also beyond the physical, we can make our wishes come true if we are in that level of conscious. This is the reason we have so many Gods for our problems. Some where when you pray, your true self - the spirit, mingles with the ultimate spirit - universe, God, Allah, Nature, Qasar etc, whoever we name it.

Why bells during pooja - they are made of five metals mixed, notice when the bell rings you can hardly think of anything ( exceptions are there) but most people cannot think of anything.

Why incense sticks - Google for Aroma therapy.

Why mantras - On deeper inspection, they are specific sounds which create positive vibrations around you.

So like this everything is connected in Hindu culture. So the reason is just one of the many i gave why women go to the husband’s house after marriage.

But as per Hinduism, Girl can stay in her home also or even you can create a new rule provided it and who knows future Hindus can follow what you say. It has to make sense and stand the test of centuries. For example, nobody is forced to practice Yoga, use Ayurveda, nobody marketed it. So how did it survive for so many 1000’s of years.

About the mention of God’s as well, so as per Hinduism, if you believe that all the story is true yes, you will find the relevant proofs for it. If you just want to think we created the Gods to harness the power of subconscious mind, then yes they are just mythology. So its like this, there are many ways a person dies. Dies of old age, dies of accident, dies of sickness. Like this you can believe in Gods in Hinduism or you can just take essence. As i said, we are not physical beings and what we understand is just a part of the universe. Universe is beyond nations, solar system, atoms, molecules, Gods, share markets, governments, tax, sin, etc.

If you are in sync with universe, yes everything makes sense and how your connected to everything, else as i said, energy can neither be created nor destroyed and cycle just goes on and on and on.

Answer might sound way out of topic but all i am telling if you feel there is a reason, yes there is a reason to it else, there is no reason to it if you don’t want to believe in it. It is up to you, whether it is there in the Hindu scriptures or not there.
