How to treat green mucus cough and sore throat?

In ayurveda (ancient indian health system- treat the cause, not the symptom), green mucus - indicates kapha. Offcourse, you have find the reason it can because, you got a cold and after few days of the cold most people get this. It could because of your recent diet which involves oily food, sweets. Life style also like you could be waking up late, eating late dinner. It can also be a combination of these. So, you have to avoid the cause. Sometimes it could be over period of time as well that caused this condition. So think what has changed over a period of time or what are you doing differently in the last few days that you are getting this green mucus.

Take turmeric - add pinch of turmeric in milk, or water and drink 2–3 times a day.

Simple remedy - Just chew basil leaves (keep bunch of leaves and chew whenever possible) or drink amla juice (do not drink more than what your body can take, else you might puke, start with limited quantity. Your phelgm will go in no time and without any side effects. Once you feel better you can stop.

Drink Amla juice - take one amla (Indian gooseberry), cut it boil it in water (Ideally 350 ml water, after boil, water quanity would have reduced) and drink after cooling it. You might puke or feel uneasy and get runny nose but don’t worry. Your body has started to remove the infection from your body. Do it continuously for 10 days. It will be gone and took you just five minutes everyday without any injections, antibiotics etc.

Off late i also found something called Salt room therapy. While relaxing in one of treatment rooms, customers inhale the dry, salt-enriched air deep down into the lungs, where the healing benefits do their greatest healing. The salt loosens the mucus, which begins to clear quickly, and inflammation is reduced, which makes more room in the airways for you to breathe. Symptoms subside, sometimes for up to 12 months.

Dry salt air is more powerful than moist air. The negatively charged ions in salt improve our health and mood. Inhaling particles may reduce inflammation and mucus in the lungs, improving most respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, bronchitis, sinus congestion and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

See if you have it nearby or see if you can customize, like use a nebulizer at home. BUT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO PREPARE THE RIGHT SALT WATER OR SALINE SOLUTION. PLUS ENSURE ITS HYGENIC AND YOU HAVE CONSULTED A DOCTOR WHILE CUSTOMIZING YOUR SALT ROOM THERAPY USING A NEBULIZER AT HOME.
